Philips Australia

the challenge

Philips was looking to develop their first Reflect RAP as a business. Philips had no data on whether they had any First Nations representation within their business and were looking for guidance and support that was culturally appropriate in relation to formally embedding its reconciliation journey.

the solution

YarnnUp would form part of Philips external First Nations RAP advisory committee to ensure Aboriginal representation within this cohort. YarnnUp’s role would be to facilitate and lead discussions around culturally sensitive issues as well as cultural awareness to ensure employees within Philips were confident enough to champion the various initiatives within the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). YarnnUp advised Philips throughout the RAP development process and drafted the copy for the submission. The outcomes and deliverables were co-designed with Philips RAP Working Group to ensure consensus from across the business. A realised document was achieved and submitted to Reconciliation Australia for formal endorsement.

the outcome

Philips achieved formal endorsement and accreditation from Reconciliation Australia upon the first submission exceeding pre-set timeframes and expectations. This ensures that the implementation piece was fast-tracked to begin the application across the business. Philips is now successfully heading towards completion of its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) implementation and will be spearheading towards transitioning into an Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
