Headquartered out of South Eveleigh, NSW, we’re an Aboriginal-owned consultancy and training organisation that partners and works closely with organisations to provide a more positive future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities. We provide companies, organisations and institutions with transferable knowledge, skills and strategy to embed effective change that is outcomes and impact focused.
YarnnUp was formally established in 2018 with founders William Trewlynn and Ray Alam recognising the fundamental need for reinventing the traditional approach to cultural awareness and competency training.
We had a vision to blend Aboriginal philosophy with western academia to provide evidence-based strategies to more effectively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, businesses and communities.
This vision became a reality and the success of YarnnUp’s flagship program led to a demand for William and Ray to diversify YarnnUp’s business offerings to provide comprehensive consulting and advisory services particularly within the reconciliation space. YarnnUp has since transformed into a social change agency and consultancy collaborating with all federal, state and local government agencies and some of Australia’s most renowned brands, from McDonald’s and DHL to Philips and Dell Technologies.
Our vision is to create social and economic impact through training and policy reform that focuses on building the capacity of individuals to become allies and champions allowing First Nations peoples to be self-determining.
Through the weaving of culture, we empower millions to connect and share by blending wisdom to inspire change.
Our values are our beating heart.
The practice of passing stories through generations is the reason why Aboriginal culture has thrived. It is essential to us.
We place great importance in being consistent in our values and actions. Put simply, we don't just talk the talk. We walk the walk.
We create real social impact for Aboriginal communities across Australia. Our training and policy reforms have an impact on both an individual and organisational level.
We are advocates for diversity of thought. Our business is firmly based on this principle, whether applying it to our training sessions or consultancy services.
