Tract Consultants

the challenge

Tract Consultants were looking for a training provider that could deliver Aboriginal cultural awareness and capability training to its staff in Brisbane as part of its reconciliation commitments. They were hoping to have this training tailored to the landscape architecture industry and provide insight into traditional approaches to land management and Aboriginal design principles as well as some more insight into the reconciliation process.

the solution

YarnnUp tailored a program that weaved Aboriginal cultural awareness with reconciliation and how to best navigate the Reconciliation Action Plan journey while incorporating Aboriginal design principles and methods of connecting with country to showcase the synergy between landscape architecture and traditional approaches to land management and curating.

the outcome

We successfully delivered Aboriginal cultural awareness and capability sessions to all of Tract Consultants employees. All participants received an action plan booklet post the training to continue their development to improve their cultural intelligence. They were also provided with post training resources around Indigenous approaches to design and implementation.
